- Place 2 cups traditional oats in a food processor and blended until ground and fine. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
- Place the ground flour in a bowl of a standing kitchen mixer. Add 4 tablespoons unsalted, cubed, and chilled butter. Add 1/2 cup brown sugar. Add 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt.
- Mix on kitchen mixer for 3-5 minutes on low speed with the paddle attachment. Streusel is done mixing when medium, uniform clumps appear.
- Use now. Or, you can put it in an airtight container or plastic bag to use for later use. Be sure to store this in the freezer or fridge. Streusel can be easily be made 1-2 days ahead.
