All About Driftwood
Located on Alki Avenue in West Seattle, Driftwood restaurant is a market driven restaurant. Menu items, entrees, and cocktails will rotate seasonally, if not daily! The ingredients and dishes are very familiar to the Pacific Northwest foodie: seafood, local produce, and LOTS of fresh herbs.
It started by husband and wife team Dan and Jackie Mallahan, both who have extensive, and impressive, culinary and pastry backgrounds. They wanted to start Driftwood because of “Community Driven from Mountain to Sound.”
Driftwood is open Thursday – Monday, 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM.
Driftwood’s Menu
Expect to see LOTS of produce and veggies on the menu, along with locally sourced meats, games, and seafood. Plus, they offer a raw bar which includes shellfish and other popular raw dishes.
Highly recommended: Butcher’s Pork Chop, served with mustard greens, Pink Lady apples, and green garlic spatzle. The portion size is healthy and HUGE! See below.
Highly recommended: Halibut, seared to perfection and served with turnip greens and roots, plus bone broth and bonito. See below
Highly recommended: House pull apart rolls, served with Dungeness crab butter, chili oil, and smoked sea salt. By far, I could eat these by the dozen!
Highly recommended: Apple cake dessert. This is a perfect finish to the meal because it was light, semi-sweet, and made me crave one more bite.
They offer indoor and outdoor seating. Plus, there is a bar that overlooks Alki beach. Go on a warm Seattle summer afternoon and enjoy a wonderful meal. For more information, check out their website.
